Addison, Ill.--The William Penn women's bowling team returned to action last Saturday and Sunday as it battled at the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic.

William Penn finished 19st out of 62 teams at the Tier 1 event with 8,132 pins.  In an event that consisted of five regular games and 20 Baker rounds, Pikeville (Ky.) won the team title with 8,884 pins.

Brianna Rogers of Pikeville topped the 393 bowlers in the field with 1,175 pins (235.0 average).

Alexis Lake (Sr., Kaysville, Utah, Nursing) was William Penn's highest individual in the standings, averaging 184.6 pins in her five games.  Madison Ross (Sr., Charles City, Iowa, Exercise Science), with a 177.0 clip, and Gabi Evans (Sr., West Liberty, Iowa, Psychology and Sociology), at 172.2, also started all five rounds.

Caitlin Radliff (So., Belleville, Ill., Software Engineering) owned the navy and gold's best pin average, finishing at 188.5 over four rounds.

Toni Hansen (Sr., Anchorage, Alaska, Biology) averaged 161.7 pins in three rounds, while Olivia Pilcher (Fr., Ottumwa, Iowa, Exercise Science) posted a 165.5 mark in two games.  Isabel Diaz (So., Kissimmee, Fla., Communications) completed WPU's scoring with 159 pins in her lone round.

"We were much better on the second day of competition," Head Coach Kirstin Foster said.  "Our spare shooting and shot execution significantly improved, but we just did not strike enough.  We will take this momentum into our next tournament at Clarke."
