The deepest squad in recently history is giving the William Penn women's cross country team hopes that it will make a big push in 2025.
Head Coach Caleb Drake, now in his fourth campaign, looks to lead the team to improvement after it finished 11th in last year's Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship.
Briana Admire (Jr., Galesburg, Ill., Biology) tops the navy and gold after posting a season-best 6K time of 24:27.1.
Morgan Taylor (Sr., Galesburg, Ill., Nursing) also returns, having recorded a 27:44.3 time in 2024, while Julie Granahan (Sr., Pella, Iowa, Kinesiology) will also bolster the returning crew.
The coaching staff was active on the recruiting trail, signing a half dozen harriers. Hometown product Emmalee Wells-Stout (Fr., Oskaloosa, Iowa, Business Management) is the frontrunner of the group, while Mallory Ostroski (Fr., Le Grand, Iowa, Kinesiology) and Claire Rye (Fr., Plymouth, Iowa, Biology) are also expected to make sizeable contributions in their first collegiate seasons.
Schedule/Conference
William Penn opens the fall Friday in Pella at the Central Invitational. The team is slated for five regular-season meets before taking on league competition at the Heart Championship on November 8 in Cedar Rapids.
